Inception Stage
On November 14, 1997, under the guidance of the Party Central Committee's policies vigorously supporting the development of private enterprises, Li Taochang resigned from his position as factory director of a collective-owned enterprise and raised 3.2 million yuan to establish Dalian North Instrument Transformer Factory. At that time, the factory only had 42 employees, a piece of barren hillside and several old houses. Restricted by equipment conditions, it could only produce some types and models of medium and low-voltage instrument transformer products. However, the factory's development did not slow down due to harsh conditions, nor did the product quality decline due to various difficulties. Li Taochang fully implemented the corporate spirit of "Character Determines Products" and earnestly practiced the business philosophy of "Strengthening the Enterprise, Enriching Employees and Giving back to the Society". In the year of its official production, the factory achieved remarkable performance, laying a solid foundation for the group-based development.
Healthy Growth Stage
Strategic decision-makers with a learning mindset have built a learning-oriented enterprise and cultivated learning-oriented employees, ensuring that employees' capabilities keep pace with the enterprise's strategy and promoting the healthy growth of the enterprise. After going through the initial stage of accumulating capital for survival, the enterprise's production and sales volume increased year by year, the number of employees kept growing, and the enterprise scale expanded rapidly. It basically achieved a major healthy leap every three years, gradually standing out in the industry. More and more domestic and foreign customers have successively established supply-demand cooperative relationships with the enterprise.
Expansion and Maturity Stage
After more than a decade of trials and hardships as well as cultural accumulation, the enterprise has developed from a growing stage to an expansion stage and evolved from immaturity to maturity. During the process of leapfrog development, the enterprise has fully adopted advanced management concepts and management tools, striving to integrate management theory with practice. In 2000, the enterprise founded Dalian North Vacuum Switch Factory; in 2003, it established Dalian North Surge Arrestor Co., Ltd. and built a high-voltage transformer production line in the same year. In 2005, Dalian North Instrument Transformer Factory was renamed "Dalian North Instrument TransformerCo., Ltd.", and Dalian North Vacuum Switch Factory was renamed "Dalian North Vacuum Switch Co., Ltd.". In 2006, the group was formally established, namely "Dalian North Electric Appliance Group". In 2008, Dalian North Instrument Transformer Co., Ltd. was renamed "Dalian North Instrument Transformer Group Co., Ltd.", and meanwhile, Dalian North Electric Appliance Group was renamed "Dalian North Instrument Transformer Group". The group has one parent company: Dalian North Instrument Transformer Group Co., Ltd.; and three subsidiaries: Dalian North Vacuum Switch Co., Ltd., Dalian North Surge Arrestor Co., Ltd. and Dalian Hongrun Packaging Products Co., Ltd. In 2009, Hunan NORIT Instrument Transformer Co., Ltd. was established.
At present, the enterprise has more than 1,800 employees, covers an area of 400,000 square meters, and has a total asset of 900 million yuan. Its technical equipment and testing capabilities have reached the advanced level in the same industry. It develops dozens of new products every year and has obtained nearly 100 patents successively.
